Project Tour Science

Musée Petit Monde is one of the key places with which the City of Torgnon, together with the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection (ARPA Valle d’Aosta) and CREA Mont-Blanc (Centre de recherches sur les écosystèmes d’altitude) takes part in the TourScience project – Developing sustainable scientific ecotourism around Mont Blanc, co-funded within the framework of programme INTERREG Italy-France ALCOTRA 2014-2020.

The labyrinth of memory

The labyrinth of memory, located in the space below the raccard, hosts the story of the Petit Monde, as well as its life and social organization.

The reception area

The space below the grandze houses the reception along with two rooms dedicated to family life, displaying feminine clothes, toys and objects.

The meat

A corner dedicated to the processing and preservation of meat.

The lumberjack

Discovering the labors of the lumberjack and his work tools.

The carpenter

A carpentry workshop from another era.

The bread

The story of bread making, a fixed appointment for the community that took place once a year.

The milk

A place to rediscover the ancient processing of milk.

The grenier

An example of traditional kitchen of the past with cutlery, furniture and furnishings.

The cow

A space to relive wheat harvesting through the objects once used.

A space to relive wheat harvesting through the objects once used.

The mule

A room shows the importance of the mule in rural life.

The hay

The two rooms dedicated to haymaking display numerous work tools, many of which are no longer known today.
